Katie DeLaMare Troy is a cellist and composer whose focus is to bring joy, meaning, and humor to diverse audiences through music. Katie is an Artist-in-Residence at Valdosta State University, where she teaches studio cello and aural skills. She performs as Principal Cellist of the Valdosta Symphony and Assistant Principal of the Northwest Florida Symphony, as well as performing with Sinfonia Gulf Coast and other regional orchestras and chamber projects. Katie has demonstrated her commitment to increasing classical music's accessibility through organizing community concerts, performing therapeutic music, and even creating humorous online videos. She received her Doctorate of Musical Arts from LSU in Cello Performance with a composition minor in the studios of Dennis Parker and Mara Gibson, her Master's of Music from the Longy School of Music of Bard College in the studio of Nicholas Tzavaras, and her Bachelor of Arts in Music at Southern Virginia University in the studio of Julia Goudimova.
