How many musicians are in String Theory Music?
The number of musicians you choose to have for your event could range from a 10-piece chamber orchestra, a 4-piece quartet, a trio, or a duet. We also offer soloists but these individual players are limited availability and location specific--best suited for smaller, intimate venues to ensure the optimal musical experience. We are also able to offer musicians-for-hire to join an existing orchestra or for recording studio work.
What attire will the musicians wear when performing at my wedding?
Our usual attire is concert black.
I don't know much about creating music setlists. How do I know what songs to select?
String Theory Music has extensive wedding and special event experience. In our consultations, we can guide you and recommend selections based on the timing details of your wedding, your musical tastes, and the ambiance that you want to create for your guests. We are happy to choose all the selections for you or let you choose your favorites.
Can I request a song that is not listed on the website?
If there is a particular selection that we do not have in our existing Repertoire that you want played at your special event, we are happy to either purchase the sheet music or commission a special arrangement by our in-house composer. A nominal fee will be determined to cover the cost of the sheet music, if necessary.
Will a musician attend my wedding rehearsal?
The musicians of String Theory Music have many years experience playing weddings and it is not necessary to have them attend your rehearsal. However, if you prefer, and if scheduling can be accommodated, a musician can attend your rehearsal for an additional fee.
How early will String Theory Music arrive before the start of my event?
The coordinating musician will arrive at least 1 hour prior to your start time to set up, consult with your officiant or planner, and answer any last-minute questions.
How much does it cost to hire the musicians?
All prices are quoted individually, reflecting all consultation fees, a base rate per musician, and travel fees when applicable.
How much music is included in your wedding ceremony package?
All wedding ceremony packages cover a 1-hour timeframe and include the following:
- Prelude Music (we customarily begin playing prelude music 30 minutes prior to your ceremony start time), depending on when your guests begin to arrive
- Ceremony Music (this generally includes the seating of the parents/grandparents, entrance of the wedding party, entrance of the bride, interlude, and recessional. These details will be designed around your unique ceremony)
- Postlude Music (music that is played as your guests are dispersing)
What kind of deposit is required?
Your deposit of 50% is due with the return of your contract. The balance is due no later than 30 days before your event. I am always happy to work out a payment plan with you if need be..
